Research has exposed a new vulnerability in viruses

Coronaviruses are tiny structures that are invisible to the naked eye. They consist of spike proteins covering their outer surface which attach to the negatively charged walls of a host cell. This forms a bridge that enables the virus to enter the host cell and infect it.

Virus transmission

Researchers* have discovered a positively charged site, known as the polybasic cleavage site, which enables bonding between the virus’s spike protein and the negatively charged human-cell ACE2 receptor.

Neutralising the receptors

Leveraging this discovery, the researchers designed a negatively charged molecule which can be fired at the virus (by the Corona Cannon) to bind to the positively charged cleavage site.

Inhibiting the virus

The cleavage site is effectively neutralised and the virus is inhibited from bonding to the host cell.

The virus neutraliser

The Corona Cannon is a plug-and-play device that enables the delivery of negatively charged high-velocity electrons that neutralise the negative-seeking spike proteins of the Coronavirus, so that it cannot attach itself to human cells.

The device floods a room or any indoor space with hundreds of electrons, which neutralise the potency of the virus present in aerosols while sneezing or coughing. It can also neutralise the virus present on surfaces, thus bringing down transmission via air or surface.
